Professional Role Players Ltd is the leading London-based company to provide professional actors and facilitators to the public and private sectors.
Since 1997, we have tried, tested and perfected the use of theatre-based learning in the workplace, witnessing staggering responses to our services. Through physical and practical approaches to learning, we have seen genuine and concrete change in the behaviours and attitudes of those who have experienced this style of development.
How did PRP start?
Phill Doulton, the company founder, trained as an actor at London’s International Drama School of Theatre & Performance, Rose Bruford College. After graduating, Phill created and ran workshops to help improve the lives of people with mental health issues or acute learning difficulties. It was from this moment that Phill saw the impact that drama had on behavioural change. In 1992, he pioneered the first Communications Teaching Programme at Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London. The success of the programme inspired him to create Professional Role Players and spread this innovative style of teaching to other organisations.
Who are we?
24 years on, we have established two specialised groups of actors who are fully committed to working for PRP, either in the medical or corporate field. We recruit and train only the best actors, and our meticulous selection process maintains our professional standards.
As a company, we are proud to offer all our clients a professional and friendly service, providing organisations with a diverse range of high calibre role players that fit all requirements (age, gender, ethnicity, build etc). Every actor receives a detailed briefing before and after each job. The ultimate goal for us is to witness the personal development of every individual who encounters role play. Seeing the positive effects of communications again and again is what makes our jobs extremely rewarding.
