Professional role Players has been involved in many of these ‘awareness’ projects. The day starts with the course participants watching a devised 'forum theatre' scene.
This ‘play let’ is a designated scene or scenes that have been devised to encourage the audience to debate relevant problems that may well occur in the workplace. The scene can be stopped at any time by the facilitator and taken to the audience for discussion. Reasoning behind what is happening and more importantly why it's happening, can also be sought from the role players. Their feedback could have an impact on the direction of the piece, and the pathway may well change as a direct result of their views.
Thereafter, the trainer delivers a session highlighting areas of cultural differences and enhances an understanding of our multi ethnic society and how that impacts in the workplace and can affect others.
Thereafter the group is divided for small group work using role players.
A plenary session rounds up the day, and this highly interactive practical exercise is constantly awarded a complete success.
We cover other emotive topics that are delivered in a similar style and include areas like, sexual awareness, bullying in the workplace.
